The Blog is a think tank. A process of assessing the everyday. Creating a criteria of what can be considered. What is potential art and what is just life. A dumping ground. The blog also houses art that contributes to thoughts and ideas I am interested in at the time.
Morning pages is a method used in this process.
Hui at Poihakena Marae, Raglan, Agenda: Treaty Claims Wananga Korero
Mixed emotions as I attended the first hui I have been to in ages, however it turned out better than I could have imagined. I learnt about what is happening on the whenua and what the wāhine back home are fighting for. I met whanau who helped me to slowly connect the dots with open arms. The wāhine are so passionate about making sure our hapu is in the best position possible. One particular whanau member went out of her way to explain who was who, another hug here and there while some chose to keep their distance. I know I have a long way to go. After the hui, my whanau picked me up and we went down to whaingaroa for a wash, kai then headed home.
